Hear us out: a bad day can be a blessing. You might not recognize it now because you’re busy flipping through Facebook looking at all your amazing, successful friends. It may seem like everyday someone yo know has an awesome new job, finds someone to agree to marry them (while you’re still surfing the dredges of Tinder) or pops out a gorgeous, amazing kid. Slow you’re roll because you’re doing just fine!

“How Do You Define Yourself” by Lizzie Velásquez
Lizzie Velásquez is a true inspiration for anyone who’s stuck in a pit of unyielding self-doubt. The documentary star suffers from a rare disease that makes her unable to gain weight. She has never weighed more than 60 pounds, and at 17 years old was labeled “The World’s Ugliest Woman” by a nasty viral video. Did she let that ruin her self-image and rob her of confidence? Nope!
Velásquez’s TED talk, which you can find by searching “How Do You Define Yourself?” on YouTube, is an inspirational look at how your struggles don’t define you and you get to decide whether or not you live a rich, fulfilling life in spite of your hardships. It’s a battle cry to everyone who felt like giving up because they were dealt an unfortunate hand.
