People fill churches every Sunday to nourish their spiritual side. Some people go to small congregations, and some individuals attend very large congregations. The large congregations with more than 2,000 members are labeled mega churches. With that many devotees, there must be a lot of work that goes on at those churches. Have you ever wondered what really goes on behind the scenes from an employee’s point of view? Let’s have a look.
If the Pastor Cannot Reel Them In, Then They’re Out of the Church
Remember when I mentioned the whole gift of gab thing earlier? These mega churches are also called charismatic churches. Why is this? Because the pastor has to have a special type of charisma in order to persuade members not only to receive their message, but also to bring new members in. Word of mouth is one of the things that builds church membership, and if the pastor is a dud, there will be no members at his church.
If a pastor does not have that gift of gab, they will be fired. No mega church wants their pastors to have members left bored, or they’re likely to spread bad news about the church’s engagement with its audience.
