For any celebrity who has been buried under an overwhelming amount of success, it's no surprise why some want to take a step back. If they don't step away, it seems like they hang on for so long that they become bizarre, and that's the end of their career.

These A-listers definitely fell off the map, but some comebacks were more surprising than others.

These days, Alba is a successful businesswoman who went on to create The Honest Company, providing a safe and environmentally friendly house cleaning products.
