Leave it to Katy Perry to get in a bizarre legal battle like this one. The saga started in 2015 when Perry tried to purchase a Medieval-Spanish-Gothic-Tudor estate. The estate had been sold by the sisters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Dana Hollister, a restaurateur, who then tried to sell it to Perry.

The nuns were not OK with Perry buying the estate, which includes 30,000 square feet of living space, a pool, a tower, and an adjoining prayer house all for an asking price of $15 million. Perry took the battle to court where things only got weirder. Tragically, while in court, Sister Catherine Rose Holzman collapsed and died. Before her death, Holzman said in an interview that, "Katy Perry represents everything we don't believe in" and "It would be a sin to sell to her."
