Most of the time, you can get away with little, white lies—that is, unless you’re a celebrity. There’s no way someone who’s already living their life underneath a microscope should be lying and cheating without expecting to get caught. At a certain point, you’re just asking for it. Whether it was lying about something as simple as their marital status or orchestrating multi-billion-dollar Ponzi schemes, these people were caught in some pretty terrible lies. Whoops!
Steve Rannazzisi Was Not A Victim Of 9/11
What’s worse than lying is lying about a national tragedy. Steve Rannazzisi, a comedian known best for his work on The League, was caught in an awful lie when he attributed the reason he moved to Los Angeles to the attacks on the World Trade Center. The actor originally said he left the Big Apple after he was caught in the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks. None of this was true, and he later admitted it saying, “I was not at the Trade Center on that day. I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry.”
