The Kardashian-Inspired Guide To Travel Eating

If you’ve ever watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians or one of its spin-off shows, then you’ve seen the famous family eat at plenty of trendy restaurants in the Los Angeles area. But what about when the Kardashians travel? Here is a list of some of the places the Kardashians (and those associated) are known to frequent when they travel.

L’Avenue

A celebrity hotspot in Paris, this red velvet-clad restaurant is the go-to place to eat. Known for reeling in A-list clientele, this traditional French restaurant is a creation of the Costes brothers – Jean-Louis and Gilbert – who have made a name for themselves in Paris for “creating places people want to stay in, eat in and be seen in,” according to The New York Times.

LAvenue

They’ve certainly accomplished what they set out to do since L’Avenue is one of the places Kim Kardashian and her crew frequent when they are visiting Paris. Kim and her husband, Kanye West, were most recently seen at L’Avenue in October 2016, days before Kim’s infamous robbery scandal.

Ferdi

Located in the heart of Paris by the Seine, Ferdi is a Spanish restaurant that Kim and her sister Kendall have been spotted at numerous times. Known to serve “the best cheeseburger” in all of Paris, Ferdi also has an eclectic menu that includes Venezuelan tapas. On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim has said that Ferdi is one of her favorite places to eat.

Ferdi

In 2015, Kim flew all the way to Paris just to have a slice of cheesecake at another restaurant, but then went to Ferdi for their churros, which she has said is her all-time favorite dessert.

Do Brazil

In the summer of 2015, the Kardashian clan took their vacation to the island of St. Barths, where they all gathered for lunch at a restaurant called Do Brazil. On her website, Kendall Jenner notes that Do Brazil has the best burgers and that they are particularly enjoyable when wearing a bikini. Tourists will say that the South American stews or ceviche are also worth a try.

Do Brazil

The Brazilian restaurant is on St. Barths’s Shell Beach and is owned by French singer and tennis player Yannick Noah, whose son Joakim Noah plays for the New York Knicks. With such a high-profile ownership, it’s no wonder the Kardashians were seen at this establishment.

San Cristóbal Paladar

On season 13 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the brood decided to go to Havana, Cuba for their next family trip. During their trip, they visited the San Cristobal Paladar, but this isn’t the first time the restaurant had celebrity clientele. In early 2016, the Obamas paid a visit to the restaurant during their trip and Beyoncé and Jay-Z have eaten there in 2013.

San Cristóbal Paladar

A “paladar” in Cuba is a home-turned-restaurant. Chef Carlos Cristóbal Márquez Valdés has made the restaurant one of complete Cuban authenticity, serving Cuban creole dishes with staples such as malanga (taro), yucca (cassava), cerdo asado (roast pork), and fresh seafood.

Le Grand Colbert

Le Grand Colbert is another traditional French brasserie that Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris, have been spotted eating at during one of their Paris trips, but the Kardashians are not the reason that this restaurant has become a tourist trap.

Le Grand Colbert

Le Grand Colbert was featured in Something’s Gotta Give, starring Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. In the movie, the stars order the restaurant’s roast chicken with a side of pomme frites (french fries) and it has become a tourist favorite ever since. Because of the film, many tourists ask if they can be seated at the exact table Keaton ate at, much to the dismay of the locals.

Cafe Laurent

While on their Cuban vacation, Kim and Kanye were also spotted at Café Laurent. The restaurant is not marked by any flagrant signs, so it might be a bit difficult to find the building. But once you get there, you need to take an antique elevator to the fourth floor where the restaurant is located in a penthouse apartment that exudes chic, 1950s charm.

Cafe Laurent

Run by Cuban chef Dayron Avileés Alfonso, Café Laurent is noted as one of the best restaurants in Havana. The restaurant’s specialty is seafood, with dishes such as red snapper in green sauce to shrimp and paella.

Cortaditos

Speaking of Cuba, you might recall Khloé Kardashian starting a trend for cortaditos, a Cuban espresso drink. In an episode of the Kardashian spin-off series Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Khloé raves about the caffeinated drink and takes her sister Kim on a hunt all over Miami in search of a coffee shop that serves cortaditos. In the episode, Kim and Khloé ask passersby on the street where they can find one before finally ending up at a coffee stand called Latin Cafe.

Cortaditos

Other Miami-based coffee shops have seen a boost in sales due to Khloé’s cravings. A Texas man drove all the way to Miami’s International Bakery Cuban Dulceria to have a cortadito just because of Khloé.

Café du Monde

Café du Monde in New Orleans is already quite popular on its own. Its features in numerous food and travel shows (plus word of mouth) have made this iconic establishment a must-try place for New Orleans tourists. Their signature treat? The beignet, a deep-fried pastry covered in powdered sugar.

In an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim flew into New Orleans to surprise a fan on their birthday and she was pregnant at the time, so of course she had to satisfy a couple of food cravings. Leave it to Kim Kardashian and her crew of friends to cause a stir in the already crowded restaurant when they stopped by for some of Café du Monde’s beignets.

Aziamendi

We now take you from the streets of Paris to the beaches of Thailand, to a restaurant called Aziamendi. The restaurant is one where the Kardashians supposedly ate at during their trip to Thailand in season nine of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Aziamendi

Run by Chef de cuisine Aisha Ibrahim, the restaurant serves up modern fare “with a Thai twist.” In addition to its cuisine, guests to the restaurant also enjoy the building’s phenomenal architecture, beach views, and modern décor. Some of Aziamendi’s most acclaimed dishes are smoky foie gras ashes (grilled foie gras coated in black salt) and The Garden (baby vegetables in a ‘garden’ of tomato and beetroot).

Regatta Rose Bay

When the Kardashians are in Sydney, New South Wales, they’ve often been spotted at Regatta Rose Bay. In season 11 of their show, the whole Kardashian gang was most recently seen enjoying dinner at Regatta in one episode. In 2015, Kendall and Kylie Jenner were seen going to dinner at the restaurant when they were in town to promote their clothing line.

Regatta Rose Bay

The restaurant sits on a historical pier in Sydney, part of the Rose Bay Marina. Run as a fish and chip shop in the 1950s, it opened as Regatta in 2014 and currently serves contemporary Australian cuisine that primarily focuses on fresh seafood and produce.

La Plage

Kendall also recommends La Plage at Tom Beach Hotel. She notes on her blog that “the menu’s always changing and your feet are in the sand as you eat!” If you ever find yourself in St. Barths, you can go to La Plage to enjoy French Chef David Sendron’s fine French cuisine with a taste of Latin influences.

La Plage

La Plage’s own site boasts the restaurant’s menu which is “based on fusion food and healthy culinary art” with dishes such as Yellowfin Tuna Tataki with Thai Sauce and Half Cooked Local Wahoo with Tandoori. It comes as no surprise that Kendall Jenner would prefer this trendy beach side restaurant.

Barista Parlor

Kim Kardashian and husband, Kanye West, allegedly visited the Nashville-based coffee shop, Barista Parlor. The hip coffee shop is apparently a celebrity sighting hot spot, with everyone from Jack White to Tom Hanks having been seen there. But the shop supposedly gets so crowded that celebrities can easily get in and out without having to be asked for a picture.

Barista Parlor

Setting up shop in an old transmission garage, Barista Parlor serves their own roasts and makes their own pastries. The shop features a large open space and frequently collaborates with local artists, farms, businesses, and bakeries. While they were there, Kim enjoyed a 100-layer doughnut that Barista Parlor sources from a local bakery.

Carbone

Heading up north, we’ll now visit all the restaurants and eateries that the Kardashians love to frequent while they’re in New York City. First on the list is Carbone in Greenwich Village. Kim has been spotted there sipping tea with Serena Williams and in 2015, Caitlyn Jenner and daughters Kendall and Kylie gathered there for a family dinner. On her blog, Kendall raves about the croutons on Carbone’s Caesar salad.

Carbone

The Italian-American restaurant puts a high-end spin on classic Italian dishes and is a frequent host for A-list clientele. But trendy Italian does come at a price — standard pasta dishes can cost you upwards of $24 or more.

Serafina

Serafina is another Italian restaurant that the Kardashians have been spotted at from time to time in NYC. Kendall Jenner and her model friends have been pictured enjoying dinner. Kim and Kanye were seen leaving the restaurant after a lunch date in 2012. Kourtney and her on-again-off-again boyfriend Scott Disick have been seen there on more than one occasion and have even eaten there on an episode of Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons.

Serafina

Reviews mostly rate Serfania as an “average” Italian restaurant but still, people flock to Serafina for their wide array of pasta and pizza options. It is suggested that you call ahead and make reservations since Serafina can get pretty packed.

The Polo Bar

The Polo Bar in New York City is a “handsome American” restaurant that was opened by designer Ralph Lauren in 2015 and pays homage to Lauren’s Polo brand style and the sport. It has since been a celebrity hot spot in NYC, hosting the likes of Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Naomi Campbell. In December 2016, even Hillary Clinton stopped by The Polo Bar to enjoy a burger.

The Polo Bar

Kim and Kanye have frequented the restaurant with their friends since the opening and Kourtney celebrated her birthday there in 2016. There isn’t much mention about the food at The Polo Bar, since everytime it is mentioned in the media, it’s mostly about what celebrity was spotted there next.

Tutto Il Giorno

To add to the list of fancy New York City Italian eateries is Tutto Il Giorno. The Hamptons-based restaurant opened a branch in Tribeca in 2014. The restaurant offers upscale Italian fare inspired by Naples and the Mediterranean. Visitors to Tutto Il Giorno have given the restaurant rave reviews and mention that you should try the restaurant’s burrata, branzino, or tuna tartare.

Caitlyn Jenner was seen there with a couple of friends after her first public appearance at NYC Pride. Hopefully, the ex-Kardashian-Jenner patriarch has brought the restaurant some more business, although judging from the restaurant’s positive reviews, it could stand on its own without a celebrity appearance.

Sybil’s Bakery & Restaurant

Sybil’s Bakery & Restaurant in Queens, New York is not a place you’d expect to see a Kardashian, but Khloé once raved about the place while she was still married to ex-husband Lamar Odom. She told Food & Wine, “Lamar always takes me here and orders for me. I love going to Caribbean restaurants… I get a spicy jerk chicken on the bone with a bunch of mixed rices like rice with pigeon peas, West Indian fried rice and spinach rice, which is made with spinach, coconut milk, and chickpeas.”

Sybil’s Bakery & Restaurant

The Caribbean & Guyanese restaurant serves you from a counter and in addition to traditional meals, offers a wide array of sweet and savory baked goods.

Bill’s Townhouse

This Manhattan-based eatery serves up classic American fare at a steep price. With $15 salads and $30 burgers, the classy restaurant offers spaces for private dining and features live piano entertainment five nights a week. Bill’s is known to host “new Hollywood” and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been spotted there on multiple occasions while in New York City.

Bill’s Townhouse

Bill’s originally opened at Bill’s Food & Drink, but quietly closed down that location and reopened as Bill’s Townhouse shortly thereafter. Even after its remodel and new management, many people still flock to Bill’s Townhouse for its amazing atmosphere and delicious food.

Suki Zuki

In 2014, the Kardashians touched down in the Hamptons to film the spin-off series Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons, much to the behest of local residents. Many local businesses refused to let the Kardashians film their reality show in their establishments because of the type of fame that surrounds the name “Kardashian.” But still, some local residents and businesses took the high road and welcomed the sisters with open arms.

Suki Zuki

While not filming, Kourtney and her boyfriend Scott Disick, who is a native of the New York area, were seen leaving Japanese restaurant Suki Zuki Sushi & Grill Bar in a red Ferrari. They were allegedly there for a dinner date, which is interesting since one of the major plots of Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons was Kourtney and Scott’s tumultuous relationship.

75 Main

One restaurant that was gracious enough to host the Kardashians and had no shame in letting E!’s cameras invade the space was 75 Main. Restaurant owner Zach Erdem posed for a picture when Kourtney and Kim visited 75 Main, where the sisters enjoyed a meal while cameras rolled for an episode.

75 Main

Miami chef Mark Militello is in charge of the menu offerings at this establishment, which offers modern Italian and American fare. People talk about the restaurant as the prime spot for people watching and possible celebrity sightings while vacationing in the Hamptons. In addition to the Kardashians, 75 Main patrons have also spotted Joe Biden, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kevin Bacon.
