Musicians are well-known for their often flamboyant sense of personal style, including their dress, cars, personalities and yes, homes. The homes of many musicians are outrageous, either because of the obvious fortune poured into the home or because of the style of the home. From walls made out of only glass to gigantic outdoor water parks to closets the size of living rooms, check out these truly fabulous homes of famous musicians.

Paul McCartney’s NYC High Life

A man as well established in the music industry as Paul McCartney must certainly own a lot of properties. In addition to a number of properties in the UK, Sir Paul also reportedly owns several properties in Beverly Hills, the Hamptons, and Arizona. To add to that list, McCartney reportedly bought a three-story apartment in Manhattan for $15.5 million!

With great views of Central Park, this Manhattan triplex boasts five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. It also includes a 33-foot long library and an outdoor terrace that spans the length of the building!

Mariah Carey’s Diva-licious Life

Pop singer Mariah Carey is known to enjoy the most lavish things in life, which is something she wasn’t shy about showing during her infamous MTV Cribs episode, in which she gave viewers a tour of her mansion. But recently the songstress has been rumored to be living in Los Angeles, where she is renting a Beverly Hills estate for $100,000 a month!

The 15,000 square-foot home has nine bedrooms and ten bathrooms. The gourmet kitchen features stainless steel appliances and marble countertops, in addition to a home theatre, game room, bowling alley, swimming pool, and tennis court. Seems like Mimi is living her best life in the City of Angels!

Ozzy Osbourne’s Is Hidden In The Hills

Rock-metal singer Ozzy Osbourne’s $13 million dollar mansion was in the celebrity-packed, gated community of Hidden Hills. The home has six bedrooms and ten bathrooms (why so many bathrooms?) and was featured in Architectural Digest. Of course, they hired an interior decorator, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, to do it up right.

The home has Travertine flooring and a guest apartment for visitors and long staying guests. There is a grand formal dining room decorated to the nines. The outdoor terrace area rocks a pool and spa, barbecue island, toilet and outdoor shower. The property boasts 2.5-acre grounds of grass and low-growing bush and trees.

Kanye West Moves To The Hills

Rapper Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian have built their dream home: a five-acre compound that includes not only their expansive mansion but several other spaces, designed for living, entertainment, and exercise. Their grounds also include a hair salon and a full spa that has rooms for facial and massage treatments. Wow. Kanye also has his own sound studio so he can record anytime, day or night, from the comfort of home.

Kim and Kanye bought their neighbors’ mansion in 2014, for $2.9 million, in order to be able to expand as they want, with the privacy they want. There is also an entire vineyard and two movie theaters. Why two? Why not?!

Jon Bon Jovi’s Fancy Estate

The handsome rocker of Bon Jovi owns a beautiful, French-styled home in New Jersey, worth $45 million. The living room is crisp and formal, but with the flip of a switch, a large movie screen that is hidden inside the flooring rises up for proper entertainment. The house rests on the New Jersey riverside on 16 acres.

Horse stables were converted into a studio for Bon Jovi, so he doesn’t have to worry about fighting traffic. He has recorded many albums in this home studio, which is decorated with Giants paraphernalia. The Middletown property is professionally decorated in French style, in delicate colors of muted yellows, blues, pinks and reds. There is a giant kitchen, of course, where the family gathers to chat and eat.

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch

Michael Jackson, the late King of Pop, has one of the most legendary properties on this list. His famous Neverland ranch (the official name is Sycamore Valley Ranch) will go down in history as one of the most talked about homes of a celebrity of all time. Reportedly worth $100 million, Neverland is comprised of about 22 structures over 2,700 acres. The Normandy-style house is around 12,000 square feet.

Michael Jackson bought the ranch in 1987 for $19.5 million and immediately set about turning it into a Peter Pan-inspired amusement park with a 12,000-square foot, six-bedroom mansion as the crown jewel. There was an amusement park with rides and circus animals, but that is all long gone, while the railroad tracks and the train station with a giant clock made of flowers remains. There is also a 50-seat movie theater designed by Jackson.

Travis Barker’s Los Angeles Living

Travis Barker is the drummer of band Blink 182, who is known for surviving a fiery plane crash and a serious drug addiction. Barker’s home in L.A.’s Cheviot Hills neighborhood is a modern home with four bedrooms worth around $5 million.

Barker’s home has been described as an “innovative architectural showpiece” for its modern design and interior. The home is in an upscale neighborhood of LA, south of Century City and Fox Studios and within walking distance to the Rancho Park golf course. The living room has a 13-foot ceiling and enormous windows and features a retractable wall of glass and a kitchen island that reaches to the outdoor patio.

Slashing Up Beverly Hills

Slash, the guitar player of rock band Guns N Roses owns a giant $11 million home in Beverly Hills. Real estate agent Jade Mills calls it “custom rocker chic.” There are three pirate ship chandeliers in the foyer along with a statue of a buxom pirate queen. There’s a 36-foot half-pipe outside to skateboard and a home recording studio inside, where Slash recorded his last three albums. The cabinetry was all custom-made.

The classic, country style mansion was built in the 1930’s and was previously owned by Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn. While working to restore the mansion, Swift filed to make it a historical landmark, which the Heritage Commission approved. The historical home covers 11,000 square feet with four bedrooms and a guest suite. The property also includes a swimming pool, cabana, and tennis court.

From Philly To The Smith Compound

Rapper and actor Will Smith (married to Jada Pinkett-Smith) has built his dream home in Calabasas, California, in a $20 million property they call the Smith Compound, which is actually a 25,000 square foot castle that very much has its own, hard to pin down look, as a mish-mash of influence: very earthy and organic looking, built in the neutral, earthy colored tones of adobe.

The rapper who has gone by many names owns a $6 million mansion built in 1999 in a gated community in Alpine, New Jersey. The mansion includes seven bedrooms and nine-and-a-half-baths. The brick home is an estate on 3.25 acres of rolling grass and procured greens. The mansion is over 8,800 square feet and includes a formal living and dining room, a great room with a large fireplace, a classic mahogany-paneled library, and a chef’s kitchen with a breakfast nook.

Singer, producer and pop-phenom Pharrell owns a Bristol Tower Penthouse in Miami, Florida. This special home is worth almost $17 million! This fishbowl-inspired penthouse is on the 40th floor with amazing and dizzying panoramic views of Miami.

Frank Sinatra’s Swanky Sky House

Frank Sinatra once lived in a swanky Upper East Side penthouse alongside the East River. The apartment is 3,000 square feet and was at one time worth almost $8 million. Artist Andy Warhol once said the party complex was a “glittering grotto in the sky.” Strangely, the top level wasn’t connected to the lower, so Sinatra and friends would climb the building stairs.

More recent owners changed the architecture somewhat, and put in an internal staircase as well as converting Sinatra’s top-floor area, where he sang his songs, into a master bedroom. In 2015, the penthouse sold after being renovated even further, for less than $5 million.

Rapper Fifty Cent owns an enormous mansion in Connecticut that runs over a mind-boggling 50,000 square feet. The mansion is worth over $14 million and is in three separate living spaces. Each living space has its own kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom, and that is just on the main property. There is also an actual nightclub that fits 50 (ha!) guests, so no one has to leave to have fun!

Brian Jones’s House Used To House A Happy Bear

This home of the once Rolling Stone band member (now deceased) has a beautiful history: it was the home of A.A. Milne, creator, and writer of the beloved ‘Winnie The Pooh’ series. Milne and his family had lived in the home for three decades. Brian Jones was born in this home, and sadly, died here: he drowned in the outdoor swimming pool.
