Ridiculously rich Indian politician G Janardhana Reddy’s daughter, Brahmani, had a ridiculously expensive wedding to Rajeev Reddy, a business scion.
The Indian public cried out in anger as the lavish wedding cost $74 million, while Indians are struggling with poverty. Brahmani wore $13 million of jewelry; her sari cost $2.5 million. The wedding opened and closed with various elaborately staged shows, such as Brazilian dancers. Sets built to imitate ancient Hindu buildings took months to create in preparation for the big day, and more than 50,000 guests attended the wedding.

Stylist Vihal Mehta and banker Rajiv Cherian were married in Goa in a beautiful beach wedding.
The bride and groom did not wear full traditional Indian clothing for their elegant ceremony but chose instead an elegant white gown for the bride, and a sharp gray suit for the groom. The bride did a DIY- leaning wedding plan, but lost nothing in translation. The details were sumptuous and rich with Indian tradition, including the bright colors, the florid ribbon canopy, the ombre flower manap (pictured) and the structure of the photo booth. Indian actress Nehara Pieris and actor Menaka Rajapakse wed at Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo in a more private wedding than is traditional, due to the fact that this was the second marriage for both bride and groom. Wrapped in famous Indian designer Chandimal Jayasinghe, Pieris was absolutely radiant glistening from head to toe and all smiles on her big day.
The gorgeous couple prohibited media from the wedding, which included traditional Indian dress, music, dancing and delicious food such as paneer, creamy curries, tandoori meat, and buttery naans. The color scheme was pink, blue, and white.

Russel Brand and Katy Perry threw a glittering, extravagant Indian-themed million dollar wedding in Rajasthan, with close friends and family attending.
The traditional Indian ceremony was held at the Aman-I-Khas resort. The celebration lasted an entire week, with parties and Indian-themed events, including elephant rides, and tigers. No media, no cameras, so there are no photos of the wedding itself, instead, there are photos of the couple enjoying India, and heading off to their honeymoon. For the ceremony, Katy Perry was covered in henna tattoos, and wore traditional Indian sari and jewelry, while Russell Brand sported a nude-colored traditional kurta.

The lovely couple and co-stars on television were married in Bhopal in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. The wedding was attended by close friends and family.
Opulent decorations including flowers, wall hangings, ribbons, pillows and jewels encrusted every area of the setting. As Vivek applied sindur on Divyanka’s forehead, the bride wore a beaming smile. A background of velvety, rich blue was in place for photos, which let Divyanka’s beautiful red dress pop. Bride and groom beamed out at the throngs cheering for them as they burst into Indian dance. Divyanka told The Indian Express her secret to marital bliss, “I won’t sleep until I have resolved an issue with my husband. I can never lie to my partner. Actor Shahid Kapoor married his love Mira Rajput in Delhi marking the momentous occasion with beautiful chrome, engraved wedding invitations to their intimate 40 guests. Their traditional Indian wedding had roots in Punjabi style.
The bride wore a traditional Indian dress in pale pink and silver, while the groom wore a simple, beautifully tailored suit of creamy white with silvery patterns overlaid. After the wedding, there was a lavish reception at the Oberoi hotel in Gurgaon of 500 people. 50 rooms were reserved for wedding invitees, some of whom stayed in the Presidential Suite, an enormous two-bedroom with its own gym and pool.

With a Sangeeth ceremony the day before the wedding, well-known actor Karan, and Ankita, had a lavish, traditional wedding in Mumbai.

Their Tamil wedding included the fun Kasi Yathra ceremony, where the groom pretends to leave the ceremony in order to live as an ascetic, and renounce all worldly pleasures. The father of the bride convinces him to stay and marry, and the groom returns.

The beautiful soap opera star Kratika met Nikitin on set, after which their parents arranged a meeting for a love match.
The spectacular wedding was held at ITC Maratha, Mumbai. Kratika wore a heavily embroidered red-pink-orange lehenga, while her husband Nikitin wore a shimmering off-white sherwani atop red and white kurta pyjama.
