Shocking Facts About Don Knotts

Don Knotts is predominately known for his googly-eyed character Barney Fife on “The Andy Griffith Show”. But there was much more to this lovable class-clown.

Awarded Supporter

Don Knotts most likely owned a large shelf for all of his Emmy awards. Between the years 1961 and 1967, the native West Virginian obtained five Primetime Emmy awards for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Comedy (say that five times fast).

These five trophies were earned for his flamboyant and jubilant character Barney Fife on “The Andy Griffith Show”. Although he was most known for his fictional character Barney Fife, unlike most television actors, Don Knotts did not become typecast to the beloved deputy sheriff. He went on to do many more sitcoms and movies.
