The Perfume Dispute

After claiming a disability toward scented perfumes, Amy Feezle filed a federal lawsuit against former employer Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital. After being hired in 2003 pleading for the establishment to “recognize the disability that causes her sickness when she comes in contact with perfumes and other scents,” the company failed to do so.

She claimed that their lack of addressing her personal issues with fragrances violated the Americans With Disabilities Act. According to Beaver County, Feezle was “seeking injunctive relief compelling Heritage Valley to accommodate her perfume disability, actual losses in wages and benefits, punitive damages for the facility’s ‘willful, deliberate, malicious, and outrageous conduct, ‘along with legal fees.” She was denied, of course.
