These celebrities give a new name to the phrase “letting the years slip away.” We all age and grow older at some point, but there are some people who age gracefully and others, well, being over the hill is more like rolling down the hill. The following celebrities have had great times throughout their careers, but time has not been so good to them. Take a look at these celebrities back then, and now, and see that with age, comes “changes.”
Val Kilmer: From Handsome to what?
Val Kilmer is an actor who is known for appearing in such films as Willow, The Prince of Egypt, and Batman Forever. In his prime, Val was known to be one of the most handsome guys in Hollywood. This is the type of guy that you would see walking down the street with at least two women holding his arms. What happens when you suddenly get older?
Gravity begins to catch up with you when you start to age. Val Kilmer has gotten a little heavier and gravity has definitely caught up with him. Would you even know these two photos were the same guy? We didn’t think so.
Nicole Eggert: Her Baywatch days are over
Nicole Eggert is an actress who is best known for playing the role of Summer Quinn on the hit television series Baywatch. Nicole was the fresh-faced surfer girl who graced television viewers in the early ’90s with her lifeguard skills among other things. She has appeared on television since then, but not as the sexy lifeguard that she once was.
Settling down and forming a family brings happiness to individuals. This will lead to couples indulging in foods of all sorts and thus adding on the pounds. Nicole is one of those individuals who this has happened to and she made an appearance on Celebrity Fit Club because of her weight gain.
Cybill Shepherd: Are her Miss Teen days forever gone?
Cybill Shepherd is an actress who is perhaps best known for playing the role of Maddie Hayes on the ABC sitcom Moonlighting opposite Bruce Willis of Die Hard fame. Cybill even dated music legend Elvis Presley in the early ’70s. Before Cybill was an actress, she was a former Miss Teen Memphis. Cybill was also a model before she became an actress. Her modeling career definitely carried over into her acting career.
Cybil is approaching her late 60s and she has aged pretty quickly. She had cancer a few years ago, which may have progressed her age because of cancer treatments. Actually, that being said, she really doesn’t look so bad for her age after all.
Catherine Bach: What the beauty once was
Catherine Bach, aka Daisy Duke, is somewhat of a legend when it comes to characters. She is remembered for playing the role of Daisy Duke in the sitcom Dukes of Hazzard. She was the model type back in the ’70s and the ’80s. She is especially known for those tight short jean shorts she wore on Dukes of Hazzard, in which the shorts also became known as “Daisy Dukes” soon after. She surely had an influence on pop culture. There was even a rap song made about her in the ’90s.
Catherine Bach has not aged too badly. However, it’s still odd to think that these two photos are the same person. Time is a strange thing.
John Travolta: Not as striking as he once was
John Travolta is an actor who became very famous in the ’70s due in part to his appearance in the movie Saturday Night Fever. He is one of the largest icons of the ’70s era. John is also known for his character Vincent “Vinnie” Barbarino in the comedy sitcom Welcome Back Kotter. He even crossed over into the ’80s with the continuation of his Saturday Night Fever appeal in the film Staying Alive, and even into the ’90s in the film Pulp Fiction starring Samuel L. Jackson.
And of course, he is a beloved star from the musical Grease. He’s also well-known for being a part of the church of Scientology, like many other big names in the industry. He is a legend in Hollywood and that is without a doubt.
Mickey Rourke: From stud to mud
Mickey Rourke is an actor who was known for his roles in such films as Angel Heart, Barfly, and Get Carter. Before Mickey became an actor, he was slugging it out in boxing rings and was pretty successful at it. He even got back into the boxing ring in the early ’90s. He was known for being a hunk and for starring in lead roles that required studs and the like.
All of the boxing in the early years of his life seemed to have caught up with him. He reportedly had plastic surgery, but it is hard to tell.
Johnny Depp: Let the past go
Johnny Depp was known as a heartthrob in the ’80s. He was known for playing in the hipster police sitcom 21 Jump Street. He also has appeared in such motion pictures as Ed Wood, Fear and Loathing, and Pirates of the Caribbean. He is very talented and he had that youthful appearance that producers and directors needed to push a movie.
Johnny Depp seems to have forgotten to get out of his Jack Sparrow character from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie from the looks of him these days. He is one of those guys who is trying to recapture his early adult years and it really shows.
Whoopi Goldberg: Can it get any worse
Whoopi Goldberg is a multi-talented comedienne and actress. She is known for her comedy routines and also several movies such as The Color Purple, Ghost and Sister Act. She is also one of the co-hosts on The View. We can all say that Whoopi has longevity in the world of entertainment.
Whoopi has done a lot in the entertainment industry. She is now in her early 60s and it seems like all of her work as finally caught up with her. It seems like the whoopee cushion is deflating and is getting a tad bit wrinkled. We all still love her the same, though.
Kelly Le Brock: In need of weird science
Kelly Le Brock will go down in history because of her role in a particular movie that came out in the mid-1980s. This one film launched her career and she became super famous because of it. She was every teenager’s dream woman back in the mid-1980s. The film that made her famous is Weird Science. She has also appeared in hundreds of publications and has been a model for a long time.
Kelly Le Brock is now in her mid-50s. She has had better days. Perhaps a little weird science could help her out and a drink from the fountain of youth as well.
Kathleen Turner: The painful truth
Kathleen Turner is a well-known performer and talented Hollywood mainstay who has appeared in such movies as Romancing the Stone, The Man with Two Brains, and The Jewel of The Nile. She also crossed over into the ’90s with the movie Serial Mom. She was ultimately forced to quit acting in 1992 because of her rheumatoid arthritis.
There are medications that Kathleen Turner has to take in order to deal with the painful rheumatoid arthritis. The medicine that she takes makes her gain weight. It must be tough to have to choose between being in pain and being slim. However, we do not blame her for choosing not to be in pain.
Suzanne Somers: Started as the hottest now she’s here
Suzanne Somers was the hottest thing on television during the late ’70s. Suzanne is well known for playing the role of Chrissy Snow, who was the stereotypical clueless blonde to in the memorable sitcom Three’s Company. Suzanne Somers rose to fame because of her role as Chrissy Snow. When it was her time in the spotlight, she took it all in stride.
Suzanne Sommers went on to write books and also appeared in some infomercials as well in the ’90s. Suzanne even appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2015. She had a battle with cancer as well, which may explain why she has aged so quickly.
Bruce Willis: He’s aged hard
When you think of action movie actors, one actor that may come to mind is Bruce Willis. Bruce Willis has appeared in several popular movies, and he is well known for playing in the Die Hard genre of films that were popular in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He is also known for playing opposite Cybil Sheppard in the ABC sitcom Moonlighting.
It looks like aging has been very hard on Hollywood stud Bruce Willis. If you look at him now, you would probably come to the conclusion of him being retired and living at some fancy retirement residence.
Linda Evans: What 50 plus years does to you
Does the name Krystle Carrington ring a bell to anyone? Maybe that question was a little too challenging to some of the younger generation. Linda Evans is an actress who played the role of Krystle Carrington in the sitcom Dynasty. Linda is also known for playing in the beach party classic Beach Blanket Bingo.
Gone are the days of Dynasty. Long gone are the days of Beach Blanket Bingo. Being a Hollywood actress for fifty something odd years will show on an individual. Linda Evans seems to not be an exception. She has had a lot of plastic surgeries along the way as well.
Edward Furlong: Narcotics have ill-effects
Actor Edward Furlong ended up doing something that he did not initially plan to do, and that was to become an actor. He is known for playing the role of John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He is also known for playing in the film American History X playing opposite co-star Edward Norton.
Sometimes certain events or circumstances will cause someone to age before their time. For Edward Furlong, it most likely had to do with his use of narcotics. He has gone on record in December 2006 as saying that he was “on and off” of hard drugs.
Caitlyn Jenner: From Bruce to Caitlyn
Caitlyn Jenner is formerly known as Bruce Jenner. Caitlyn Jenner was a popular Olympic athlete who won medals in the decathlete. She started off as a star high school athlete and then became a star athlete in college as well. She eventually became interested in Track and Field after a football injury. She became famous in the world of track afterward. She is considered to be one of the greatest athletes to compete in the Olympics.
Caitlyn is associated with the Kardashians and has appeared on the reality television show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Her age seems not to have kept up with her as of late.
Chuck Norris: Uncle Chuck!
Chuck Norris is a martial artist first and foremost. He is also an actor who has appeared in many martial arts based films. He has worked alongside the legendary Bruce Lee in Return of the Dragon. He has also played on Walker: Texas Ranger also and he is also known for those Total Gym infomercials that no one seemed to get enough of about twenty years ago.
Chuck is probably in very good shape currently as he still may be a practitioner of the martial arts. He probably uses the Total Gym on a regular basis as well. He now looks like the uncle that you have not seen for a long time. You know the one!
Lara Flynn Boyle: Can you recognize her
Lara Flynn Boyle is known for playing the role of Donna Hayward in the series Twin Peaks. She also played roles in such films as Wayne’s World and Men in Black. She appeared in some works in the ’80s which includes Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but she is more notable for appearing in works that were around in the ’90s.
The aging process has caught up with Ms. Boyle. It seems like Lara Flynn is not a happy camper in the image on the right. It could be due in part from the many plastic surgeries that she has undergone. The surgeries are supposed to defy aging but it does not look like that from the image.
Sally Struthers: How the times have changed
Sally Struthers is another icon of the ’70s era. She is best known for playing the role of Gloria Stivic on the popular sitcom All in the Family. The sitcom was a microcosm of society and the characters presented conflicting norms. The sitcom would probably do pretty well even today, especially with the political climate of our time. Sally was a shapely and beautiful blonde who was the ultimate sweetheart.
Sally Struthers appeared to inflate after her appearance on All in the Family. She received a lot of attention about her weight in the latter years and became the subject of some comedy skits even back then.
Axl Rose: Well worth the weight
Axl Rose is a musician who is known for his association with the band Guns N’ Roses. Axl is known for his awesome vocal range and his stage performances. A lot of media outlets have said that he is one of the greatest singers of all time. He was inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame but he declined his induction. Talk about being rebellious. I guess it comes with the rocker image.
Trends change in the world of music. Some trends are good and some trends are bad. It seems like Axl Rose has started a trend of his own. He has his own age demographic with his new “image” as well. The image of him above makes you want to, I will say it, laugh.
Jocelyn Wildenstein: One surgery too many
Jocelyn Wildenstein is a known New York socialite. She was a skilled hunter by trade at one time before getting with her future husband Alec Wildenstein.
Is that someone’s kitty cat? What a cute kitty cat! Okay, there are some extreme plastic surgeries and then there are beyond extreme plastic surgeries. The surgeries that Jocelyn Wildenstein underwent are unexplained. She wanted to have a cat face because her husband loves big cats. To each his own. By the way, she divorced her husband when she allegedly walked in on him and a 19-year-old Russian model in their bed.
