Guns N’ Roses pretty much defined ‘80s hair metal. Their unique sound garnered over 100 million record sales worldwide. In the United States, they became the 41st best-selling artist of all time after hawking 45 million records.

The band’s trajectory to fame was a strange one. Their debut Appetite for Destruction hit No. 1 an entire year after it was released (for reference, most albums that go number one do it in the first week they come out or not at all). Over the years, they’ve racked up their accolades. They received enough MTV Video Music Awards and American Music Awards that it’s almost hard to count them all. Needless to say, Axl Rose’s trophy case is pretty full and he doesn’t need another, no matter how big the achievement. See which award he turned down next.
