According to Jolie, her first relationship started when she was fourteen. She and her then-boyfriend lived in her bedroom in her mother’s house. Jolie stated that this was done so as to not let her get carried away outside the house and to keep her off the streets or getting into drugs.

Her mother’s strange parenting style didn’t seem to work, however. Jolie admits that by the age of twenty, she had already tried every drug she could get her hands on. Heroin became a drug of choice for the young inspiring actress, but between her drug use and struggle with insomnia and an eating disorder, life wasn’t stacked in her favor.
