Scarlet Johansson may have been perfect for playing the character Black Widow in the 2010 Marvel film Iron Man 2, but it was Emily Blunt that the studio was interested in first. Blunt turned down portraying the superhero due to a scheduling issue with Jack Black’s Gulliver’s Travels.
While Iron Man 2 may not have been the most beloved film, there’s no denying that it was significantly better than the disaster that was Gulliver’s Travels. Furthermore, audiences loved Johansson as Black Widow so much they decided to give the character her own movie.
