Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II has reigned over the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms since her accession to the throne in 1952. Before her coronation, she was known as Princess Elizabeth. She married Prince Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947. There were 2,000 guests in attendance, and 200 million people watching from home.

The couple remained married for 73 years until Prince Philip’s death in April of 2021.
