Barinholtz joined the cast in 2002. He would often pair up with a fellow cast member, Josh Meyers, in various sketches like Mike Myers/Dana Carvery on SNL. He would appear on the show for five seasons with memorable characters like Dutch from Abercrombie and Fitch.

Since his departure, Barinholtz became a writer for The Mindy Project and he was eventually cast as Nurse Morgan Tookers. He also appeared in both Neighbors movies, as well as Suicide Squad. Barinholtz found his way onto another television show called Friends From College.
