Years after the show was canceled, it was reported that the series would be returning for a one-hour special on The CW to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary. A special would air on January 12, 2016, with a large portion of the cast returned.

Months later, The CW announced that it was reviving the show for an eight-episode season to air in primetime. After the season, the show went on a hiatus. It continues to be on hiatus as The CW has not renewed the series for another season.
