The Social Network is a loose dramatization of Mark Zuckerberg’s whirlwind creation of Facebook. The film follows him as he comes up with the idea and is launched to stardom. The Winklevoss twins sue him claiming he stole their idea. This is all happened. Zuckerberg’s inspiration to create Facebook was made up.

Aaron Sorkin, the film’s writer, and director has admitted that he made up the character of Erica Albright. Zuckerberg’s girlfriend breaks up with him at the start of the film. At the end, he sends her a friend request. Sorkin admits adding her was a purely dramatic decision.
