Will the next James Bond actor be of color? Should the next 007 be a female actress? No one knows the definite answer to that, but the man who used to carry the moniker opened up about what he endorses.

Pierce Brosnan comprised the role of James Bond from 1994 to 2002. While he did an excellent job at being the secret agent, his opinion might have some weight to it. Brosnan says that playing Bond was his most significant achievement, but it’s time for a woman to suit up and take out the bad guys. With Lashana Lynch rumored to take the mantle next, the four-time 007 might get what he wants soon.

“Yes!’ Brosnan said of the possibility of a female Bond. “I think we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting,” he said. He did keep his reservations because of who was in charge of production. “I don’t think that’s going to happen with the Broccolis. I don’t think that is going to happen under their watch,” he said.

Brosnan also said that the spy who seductively gets his way will have to tone things down because of the #MeToo movement. “Without question, yes… The #MeToo movement has been relevant and significant and well needed in our society, so they’ll have to address that,” he said.

Brosnan’s next course of action is to film the Netflix comedy about the Eurovision song contest along with Will Farrell and Rachel McAdams.
