Kathryn Metz received Don Knotts’ first wedding ring. The two love birds lived in holy matrimony from 1947 to 1966. Between those 19 years of young love, Metz and Knotts conceived two children. A son, Thomas Knotts and a daughter, Karen Knotts.

Thomas Knotts has become most notable as the son of Don Knotts. Karen Knotts on the other hand, became a stand-up comedian and is also a SAG/AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) actress. Knotts went on to marry two more times after his divorce with Metz in 1966.
