She would often discuss how she loved wearing the earrings because of the way they looked, but hated the pain and numbness caused after a long day of shooting.

Most of us who have ever worn earrings can attest that the larger styles can quickly become painful. This is doubly so for clip-on earrings, which Arthur had to wear for taping since she didn’t have pierced ears. Clip-ons work by pinching the ear lobe hard enough to keep the earring up… not a comfortable thing to deal with by any stretch of the imagination. Over time, clip on earrings can lead to such distressing conditions as headaches, distorted ear lobes, ear aches, pain, numbness, and even scarring in severe cases.
