In the 1980’s, Bob Ross made painting cool again with The Joy Of Painting. In 2016, Netflix uploaded the “Chill With Bob Ross” and “Beauty Is Everywhere” collections so you can Netflix and chill in a totally different way. Seriously, millennials are having Bob Ross parties where they all get together and paint alongside the show.
His show may have ended in 1994 but Ross has remained an idol for decades since. Despite being in the public eye, most people don’t know a lot about the man behind the calming voice. He Began Painting In The Air Force

Its hard to believe the clean-shaven young man in this photo is the same Bob Ross we all know and love. Ross spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, which is where he fell in love in love with art and painting.
He took an art class while stationed in Alaska and began his journey into painting. Ross would paint quick, small pieces during his work break that he would sell to others on base. According to Ross, the art classes on base were too abstract for his liking, so he began to develop his own painting style.
