Ross may have appeared conversational during his show but those “happy little mistakes” were all planned out. His manager, Kowalski, said that he would apparently stay up all night thinking of what to say.

It’s hard to imagine someone as laid back as Bob Ross meticulously planning out every word he says. This strange duality must be what happens when a prim and proper Air Force Master Sergeant begins a second career as a painter with a perm.
