A Full Season Was Filmed In About Two Days

His carefully laid out plan when he painted came in handy when he actually had to film the show. One season for The Joy Of Painting took only two days to complete. This is even more impressive when you find out that Ross would paint three versions of the painting for each episode.

He painted one original that he could reference off-screen while they filmed, the second one would be painted during filming, and then he would paint the third version after filming for his photographer to take photos of his brush strokes up close in order to use for his books.
