He Was Missing Half His Index Finger

A painter’s hands are their greatest tool so it can come as pretty shocking to learn that a large part of one of Ross’s finger was cut off. Ross had dropped out of school in grade 9 to pursue a life of carpentry alongside his dad. During this time, he lost nearly half of his left index finger in a carpentry accident.

Luckily for Ross, it didn’t affect him that much. He was still a welcomed addition to the U.S. Air Force and didn’t hurt his painting style since he used his left hand to hold his painter’s palette.
