[VIDEO] DIY Green Bloody Maeve

This twist on a Bloody Mary is right in time for St. Patrick’s Day. It’s green, it’s mean, and actually quite refreshing. The real kicker? Instead of vodka, we opted for a good ‘ole Irish Whiskey. You can still use the same toppings you’ve grown to love on your Bloody’s and if you’re carrying one of these around, you’re sure to avoid being pinched!

Ingredients:

1 lb Tomatillos (husked)

½ lb green tomatoes (for the right color, if you can’t find green tomatoes in your area, just use regular red tomatoes!) 2 whole cucumbers (save some slices for garnishing) 2-3 garlic cloves Lime juice from 1-2 limes (save some slices for garnishing) 1 jalapeño (deseeded) 4 stalks worth of fresh parsley leaves 1 tsp. Worcestershire 1 tsp. Wasabi 3-5 dashes of Tabasco green hot sauce Salt + pepper to taste Jameson

Optional:

Celery bitters

Toppings:

Cocktail shrimp, cucumber slices, lime slices, olives, bacon, parsley, celery… the sky’s the limit when it comes to toppings. Don’t hold back!

Instructions:

Roughly chop all of the ingredients (tomatillos, tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapeño) and toss into blender. Add the rest, hold on the Jameson and bitters.

Now that your bloody mix is ready, you can serve up a drink: ice, Jameson, bitters, and feel free to add more hot sauce and pepper if you want to spice it up.

Stir. Add your garnishes and serve.
