Fifty GOP Leaders Warn The US About Trump

You might think since he’s officially received the nomination that Donald Trump has won over every Republican, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. More than 50 of the most powerful Republican members of Congress, the Senate, and different cabinets have warned us that electing Trump could present a major threat to national security. These 50 GOP leaders have even signed a letter and a petition stating that Donald Trump “lacks the character, values and experience” to be president and “would put at risk our country’s national security and well-being.” Harsh words from his own party, eh?

This letter came after Donald Trump recently asked Russia to hack into the Democratic national party emails, which is a clear misunderstanding of what a president’s primary role should be. Trump totally lacks all knowledge of foreign affairs, and members of the GOP are finally beginning to see it. Their letter also stated that Mr. Trump, even though he has been told to do so, has no interest in learning about how to deal with other countries or the way of conducting respectable foreign affairs.

These GOP Republicans also state that they pledge never to vote for Donald Trump, saying that their vote for him would in fact be against the Constitution and the foundations that America was built upon. However, the real problem is that many of these 50 politicians also cannot see themselves voting for Hillary Clinton. This splitting of the vote could have dire consequences on the outcome of the presidential election.

The Donald was not at all quiet when he heard that the party that was once in favor of his presidency was now signing letters stating their clear opposition.

Donald Trump told his followers and voters that these men were the ones that people would have to watch out for. The Republican candidate referenced the GOP by stating, “the ones the American people should look to for answers on why the world is a mess, and we thank them for coming forward so everyone in the country knows who deserves the blame for making the world such a dangerous place.”

He went on to say that it was these men who were to blame for the deaths in Benghazi, and also for the creation of ISIS. However, these men were not even a part of the Obama administration, which was in power during the initial formation of ISIS.

This letter doesn’t just represent anger with the Donald Trump campaign, it also shows a real fear for the stability and safety of America. Trump has vowed to try to increase trade and communications with Russia, and has also been a public fan of how Vladimir Putin leads his dictatorship.

Donald Trump, based on his comments, is not fit to be commander-in-chief, nor should he ever be given access to nuclear weapons. Trump acts like a spoiled child — he cannot take criticism, but instead fights back with fighting words and false statements. Is that someone who should have access to the weapons of war?
