The 44th President made waves with his debut on the Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart (dated Jan. 5). The song Barack Obama appears on is “One Last Time (44 Remix),” a gospel-inspired song taken from the hit Broadway show, Hamilton.

Obama has the Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda to thank for his appearance on the charts. Along with Obama, the song also features Christopher Jackson and BeBe Winans.

If you can recall, our former president is no stranger to showcasing his vocal range.

Back in 2012, Obama wowed the crowd at the Apollo Theater in New York City when he started singing the lyrics, “I, I’m so in love with you.” He began reciting Al Green’s hit song “Let’s Stay Together” with a rather soothing voice. However, that wasn’t the first time Obama has shared with the world his passion for music. Viewers of the Jimmy Fallon show had the pleasure of experiencing multiple slow jams from Obama.

The chart-topping entered at number 22. That’s ironic because Miranda released the track on Dec. 22, 2018. The release is in function with “Hamildrops” which aim to raise money for multiple nonprofits. Something also noteworthy is that his wife and former FLOTUS charted on the Billboard way back in 2015.
