After dad Scott Mackintosh overheard his wife ask their daughter to change into longer shorts before leaving to dinner and their daughter’s refusal, he took matters into his own hands. He said that instead of getting into an argument he demonstrated her look on himself. He cut off a pair of jeans into his own short shorts and paired it with a “Best. Dad. Ever.” T-shirt.

He actually wore the fashionable ensemble out to dinner with his family, much to the embarrassment of his teenage daughter. The Mackintosh family even made an appearance on the Today show, and the father confirmed “I was absolutely going for shock value and embarrassment.” He also said his daughter is now well aware that he thinks his lesson resonated with her. Scott says, “modest is hottest!”
