It’ll Be A Freaky Full Moon This Friday The 13th

Let's hope you don't have triskaidekaphobia - fear of the number 13, because, for the first time in 13 years, there will be a full moon on Friday the 13th.

The phenomenon, most commonly known as a harvest moon, hasn't fallen on the superstitious day for the entire country since October 2000.

After this week, the nation won't witness a spooky Friday the 13th together until August 2049.

For most of the U.S., they'll be able to see the lunar phenomenon just after sunset on Friday. However, the East Coast will have a slightly less spooky full moon with theirs happening just after midnight, making it closer to the less superstitious day of September 14th.

Harvest moons occur during the autumnal equinox, when summer turns to fall, which usually falls near the end of September.

Some are calling it a "micro moon" as it will appear 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than most supermoons that grace the night sky.

Is this superstitious, spooky evening an ominous sign for what's to come this fall? Only time will tell.
