I guess if you’re going to be a political prisoner in one of the worst prisons in the world you might as well have a view. This fortress can still be found in Slovenia and was built in the 13th century.

The most famous resident of the castle was in the 15th century when nobleman Erazem Lueger established his name in the history books as a ruthless leader. He tried his enemies and invading soldiers in secret trials in the castle and then threw them into their cell which was basically just a cave. If the fall didn’t kill them, the lack of food and isolation certainly did.
